Stafford strikes gold as good times roll!

A majority of Stafford Speed members competed in the Australian Speed Skating Championships recently in Sydney.

Shane Blackadder had 9 gold medals and 2 silver medals in a very competitive age group for 43 + men.
Michael Gray in the same age group place 3rd 3 times.
Adam White in 30 + Masters Men had a best placing of 4th on the Road and 3rd on the Track.
Shane, Michael & Adam teamed up with another skater to win the track relay.
Win Hughes at 74 years of age competing in a 55 + age group competed very well.
Maree Mills in 55 + Masters ladies  won all 8 age group races. In many of her races she raced with the 30 + ladies and beat some of them.
      She also placed 2nd & 3rd in the 2 Open Masters races.
Linda Wild skating in the 30 + Masters Ladies came 2nd 5 times to an ex-Australian team member in the Road events.
      In the Track races she won all 5 events, with the other lady not competing.
 Linda & Maree also placed 2nd in the Track relay.
Tanish Sahni competing in Under 13 boys placed 4th 4 times in the road events, and was close to 3rd in most of these.
       He had a few issues in the track races including a heavy fall, but will be better in the future.
Oscar White in the same Under 13 age group was a little bit off the pace but tried hard.
Mark Wild competing in Under 18 age groups won 4 golds in the Road races but in stronger competition in the Track events
       Had 1  3rd placing & 3  4th places.
Mark, Tanish & Oscar teamed up for 3rd place in the Road relay.
Isla White was the only Under 11 skater nominated, so she had to compete in the Under 13 Girls age group.
        She tried hard but against older girls, she could not match them.
        She did however team up with 2 other girls to get 3rd in the Junior Girls relay.
